Multiply Training Offer: Making better choices & budgeting

First Choice Homes is launching a campaign to encourage Greater Manchester residents to learn skills for life through the funded Multiply course. The team is offering a 1-day course designed to help those who want to improve their maths/numeracy ability and give their career prospects a boost. Multiply is open to GM residents aged 19yr +, providing they do not have a Maths qualification at GCSE C/Grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2. Participants don’t have to be an FCHO customer. Travel expenses will be reimbursed, and lunch provided.

Over 30 employers, with hundreds of employment opportunities across a range of sectors, will be available at our Autumn Jobs Fair. The Tameside Jobs Fair is held twice a year and has live vacancies as well as training, support and skills providers who will be on hand to help people with their employment journey. This will include the in-work progression support provided by ‘Tameside In Work’ and the supported employment service ‘Routes to Work’ as well as training providers such as Tameside Adult Commu

Action Together Recruitment Fair

As part of the Oldham Poverty Action Network, we are excited to announce three new Fixed Term Contracts, to drive forward action on behalf of the network, tackling the root causes of poverty.

We will be holding a Recruitment Fair on Monday 9 October 2023, 10am – 1pm, at Hack Oldham, 38-44 Yorkshire Street, Oldham OL1 1SE.

Andy Burnham and Kate Green visit the Violence Reduction Unit

On Thursday 31 August, Andy Burnham (Mayor of Manchester) and Kate Green (Deputy Mayor of Manchester) visited Oldham’s Violence Reduction Unit to see the progress which the alliance has been making.

The programme in Oldham provides mentoring, youth work and sports programmes for young people at risk of or vulnerable to serious youth violence and exploitation, programmes that empower young females, and projects that engage young people and their parents.

Volunteer Fair returns to Oldham Town Centre

On Tuesday 22 August 2023, our Volunteer Fair made it's grand return to Oldham Town Centre. This event gave local organisations the chance to shout about their fantastic volunteering opportunities and members of the public a chance to find out more about what is available to them.

Stalls from organisations with varied volunteer opportunities filled the streets of Oldham Town Centre, ranging from volunteering with the police, fire service, hospices, gardening, arts and crafts and even with us at Action Together!
