On Monday 29 September, 35 leaders, volunteers and paid workers from Tameside’s VCFSE sector came together for our latest Tameside Voluntary Sector Summit to join us in a conversation around Community Power, and specifically what is needed to nurture the conditions for Community Power to grow in Tameside.

Groups shared their examples of Community Power at the summit, from social groups supporting people with specific health and mental conditions to community centres and hubs that are growing their offers in neighbourhoods, plus so many more.

Simon Borkin, Chair of Friends of Stretford Public Hall, shared their journey to community ownership, and what can happen when communities take control of local assets and have a real say in shaping services.

A huge thank you to all who attended for sharing their ideas and ambitions for creating a better place for Community Power to thrive in Tameside.
