Thanks to National Lottery players, Action Together has received life-changing funding from The National Lottery Community Fund. £50,000 will be invested into each six neighbourhoods across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside to support local people to design and lead participatory grant making, ensuring communities decide how funding is used to improve health, wellbeing and local connection. This will help grassroots groups have fairer access to funding, alongside practical support and learning that strengthens community capacity and long-term impact.
This has been awarded from The National Lottery Community Fund’s new You Decide programme - involving communities directly in decisions about funding good causes. You Decide is key to the funder’s efforts to put community power, agency, and control at the heart of its funding in England - supporting communities to live happier, healthier lives. This truly life-changing funding has been made possible by National Lottery players.
Rochdale North
£50,000 is set to be invested in Rochdale North, and we want you to help decide how it will be spent. We want to ensure residents, as well as VCFSE organisations, have their voices heard, so please share this opportunity with any of your members/service users, other residents, or people who work in Rochdale North.
On 29 September 2026 we held our 'Rochdale North Design Jam' - an interactive workshop where residents, community groups and anyone who cared about Rochdale North came together to shape the future of their community.
Priorities for Rochdale North
Thank you to all the participants who joined us, and helped to collaboratively decide on the key priorities. The FOUR priorities our participants decided on for the funding in Rochdale North were:
- Creativity for Health and Wellness: Projects promoting health with stealth and wellness through creative methods
- Strengthening Accessibility: Projects improving accessibility and engaging new groups
- Be Green: Projects harnessing and enhancing our Green Spaces for all ages
- Activity for Youth: Projects providing activities for young people aged up to 25

We are now looking for people who can help us make sure this funding goes where it is needed the most in Rochdale North (Central Rochdale, Healey, Norden and Spotland, and Falinge).
We are working to form a Steering Group of 6 to 8 local people who will co-design the funding process from start to finish. Being a steering group member will require committing to a maximum of three meetings throughout October and November 2026 - each steering group member will receive a payment of £20 per hour.

- Inclusive Activities for Young People: Projects offering free and inclusive activities for young people
- Wellbeing (Health & Education): Projects providing education and awareness to pressing issues such as mental health, sexual wellbeing and hate crime
- Intergenerational Connection: Uplifting, positive and empowering projects strengthening connection between the young and old
