Our Autumn Volunteer Fair
On Tuesday 7 October 2025, our Volunteer Fair made it's grand return to Oldham Library. This event gave local organisations a platform to shout about their fantastic volunteering opportunities and members of the public a chance to find out more about what is available to them.
Stalls from organisations with varied volunteer opportunities filled Oldham Library, ranging from volunteering with hospices, gardening, arts and crafts, animal care and even with us at Action Together!
The event was a great success! The fair had 29 groups attend, 905 conversations were recorded, and 77 applications were made on the day.
Oldham's Mayor Councilor Eddie Moores and the Lady Mayoress Kath Moores also joined the Volunteer Fair to meet some amazing local groups in the community and share their support of the event.
"Volunteering is invaluable. Without the volunteers we have in Oldham a lot of the organisations that i've been lucky enough to meet today would not be able to operate. Without those volunteers, none of this would go on, and I thank every one of them for their hard work in Oldham." - Councilor Eddie Moores
We would like to say a huge thank you to the organisations who joined us to highlight the incredible contributions volunteers make to the community of Oldham, and how the community can get involved in local volunteering.

Feedback
We are delighted to share feedback from our Volunteer Fair from both organisations and community members:
“Just want to say thank you for arranging such a much needed event, its clearly working for us and for everyone else we spoke to at the event, the staff from action together are always a pleasure to be around, and super super friendly. I honestly I can’t find fault, each event gets better and better, and we've certainly gained a good amount of volunteers since getting more involved with the events”.
“We were able to recruit volunteers and created some working partnership. Good opportunity for our volunteer to be engaged in the recruitment”.
“Not only did we get to engage with potential new volunteers, we also get to network with other organisations and its led to us having some collaborations with others, the ability to join groups within communities and give people chances they wouldn't otherwise be given, i feel its a vital service doing amazing work”.
“Lots of footfall and networking opportunities”
"I didn't realise there was so much going on in Oldham, I'm glad I came and chatted to all the groups."
"I've come with my friends and the college today, it's been really fun talking to everyone. They've been really friendly and inviting. I'm looking forward to finding out more!"
