Vinci UK Foundation Grants

Aims/priorities: The Vinci UK Foundation provides one-off grants for innovative projects which address at least one of the four areas of action in the fight against social exclusion:

  • Access to employment.
  • Insertion through housing.
  • Inclusive mobility.
  • Building better communities.

At least one Vinci employee has to be involved in the project as a sponsor.

Oldham Kooth Engagement Offer 2021 - 2022

Kooth.com is a free, safe and anonymous site that offers confidential support to young people via community spaces, self help tools and access to online counselling.

Kooth is available for age ranges 11-25 and is commissioned by NHS Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group. Everything available to post-primary school education settings, services and organisations from their Engagement Offer are entirely free to access.

Healthy Start Scheme

Could you be eligible for Healthy Start poster

What is the Healthy Start Scheme?

If you’re more than 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under 4, you may be entitled to get help to buy healthy food and milk.

If you’re eligible, you’ll be sent a Healthy Start card with money on it that you can use in some UK shops.

Taster sessions of Positive Relationships Programme

UP Community Interest Company were awarded the Oldham Community Recovery Fund to provide four ‘taster’ sessions of their adult Positive Relationships Programme via Zoom. The sessions will be offered to local people accessing community support organisations operating in Oldham.

They have availability for 20 - 30  people to join the four online sessions which will be delivered weekly approximately of 1.5 hours per session.

Oldham Lifelong Learning Service - learning opportunities for adults aged 19+

Oldham Lifelong Learning Service is the adult learning service for Oldham Council. They provide a wide range of learning opportunities for adults aged 19+ to help you gain the skills you need to get a job, move on in your career or perhaps start your own business. They have 5 different curriculum teams which are:

Oldham Safeguarding Children Partnership - Training Calendar, January - March 2022

Check out next quarter's training calendar which offer a variety of safeguarding courses including Domestic Abuse Safety Planning, The Invisible Male, Sexual harassment of young people, Safer Recruitment and the Impact of adult self-neglect and hoarding on children and families.

As a result of Covid-19 all of their face to face training has been temporarily suspended.

Use of Appropriate Language

Empowering professionals to feel confident in their use of language when working with children & young people at risk of exploitation.

This session will explore the use of appropriate language in order to support professionals who are working with children and young people at risk of exploitation. 

There are three dates available:

Togetherall Online Mental Health Service

As part of Oldham's prevention and promotion for better mental health programme, the Togetherall online mental health service is now live and free for all residents of Oldham aged 16+. This will give 24 hours per day access to an anonymised community that is moderated day and night by healthcare professionals.

This is a place where residents can feel safe to share feelings and support each other.  Residents can also access art and writing therapies, tools and resources, as well as a variety of online courses.
