Lifelong Learning Partnerships and Community Engagement team offer community groups various FREE activities to help with health and wellbeing and reduce social isolation.  

Below are a few examples, these can be tailored to meet the needs of each group. Life Long Learning attempt to provide resources for free however, depending on the activity there may be a minimal charge for resources, this is usually clarified once a group has decided what they would like us to deliver. The tutor costs are covered via their budget

From speaking to groups of young people, they are clearly finding it all the harder to accept reassurances/support being offered with this coming straight after the pandemic which turned out to be something much more than first envisaged.

Does your social enterprise, community business or charity work to support individuals, communities or businesses in Greater Manchester?

Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO) social enterprise team are inviting you to a weekly drop-in session for social enterprises, community businesses and trading charities to discuss your questions and support needs. Our team will be on-hand to offer advice and guidance for all things social enterprise; including setting-up, funding, social impact and social investment.

Aims/priorities: A small monthly payment will be available for UK host families who volunteer to house Ukrainians fleeing their homeland due to the Russian invasion.The UK Government has launched the ‘Home for Ukraine’ scheme which allows individuals, charities, community groups and businesses across the UK to offer a room or home rent-free to Ukrainians escaping the war in their home country. The refugees do not need to have any ties to the UK to be eligible for accommodation.

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to improve maternal safety and outcomes of women and girls by supporting the development of services which address issues such as obstetric violence, female genital mutilation/cutting, domestic violence, coercion, financial abuse and pregnancy informed by previous sexual or physical trauma

Who can apply? Charities, Community Interest Companies, not-for-profit groups and grassroots movements may apply, providing they can demonstrate:

Aims/priorities: The Maintenance Fund provides six-year tapered grants to help football clubs enhance or sustain the quality of their grass pitches.

Who can apply? All applicants must have the required security of tenure and have received a PitchPower Pitch Assessment Report. To be eligible for this fund the applicant must own the freehold, have an uninterruptible lease of 10 years, have a licence for 10 years or have the written consent of the landowner.

Eligible organisations include:

Aims/priorities: The funding is for projects that will improve accessibility to waterways and facilities thereby enabling greater use of them. There is particular interest in enabling enhanced participation in paddle sports for all people.

Aims/priorities: This fund aims to support UK-based registered charities to deliver projects and activities that make a positive contribution to people’s lives through the arts. Funding will support projects and activities that engage young people in the arts, skills development in the arts and heritage sector, and projects that support local and regional arts organisations and museums.

Who can apply? UK-registered charities with an annual turnover of less than £3 million can apply.

Aims/priorities: The aim of the funding is to support charities and social enterprises who are helping young people from ethnic minority and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds into work.

Who can apply? To be eligible to apply, organisations must:

• Be a registered charity or social enterprise working in the UK.
• Have an income of at least £100,000 in the last independently examined set of accounts.

The Anthony Seddon Fund are pleased to share a fantastic event they will be hosting on Wednesday 13 April. The event is aimed at the public, professionals and anyone who interacts with men. The day will be an opportunity to hear from some fantastic organisations that support men alongside some truly inspirational individuals sharing their story. The Anthony Seddon Fund  want to showcase the support that men can access in the community, as well as hearing inspiring stories that help to break the negative stigma surrounding men and their mental health.
