100th Oldham Scouts linked up with local business The Jordon Group to help 25 Scouts, leaders and their equipment get to a campsite.

It can be an exercise in logistics to get from the Scouts’ base in Chadderton to Bramhope Scout Camp and back again, and the Scout Group were looking for a van to transport their camping equipment.

Action Together, Oldham Council Community Team and Kashif Ashraf put the Scouts in touch with The Jordon Group, who kindly offered their van to help transport the equipment.

Peter Connolly from 100th Oldham Scouts said, “The 100th Oldham Committee, Leaders and members would like to extend their warmest appreciation to the community partners and the local business that helped so much in making the camp possible.

“We are in debt to Kashif Akram, Action Together, Oldham Council and especially to The Jordon Group for the loan of a van over the weekend. It’s a fantastic example of how the community can come together to help a community group.

“New members can get in touch by emailing 100thOldhamscouts@gmail.com. We meet on Monday evenings at St. Herberts Parish Centre on Broadway, Chadderton. Find out more at www.100tholdhamscouts.org.uk

Cllr. Mohon Ali tweeted, “An enjoyable experience for all involved. Great of our local business Jordan Group to step forward and provide their vans to transport the camping equipment.” Kashif Ashraf said, “Well done Paul from The Jordon Group answering a call from 100th Oldham Scouts who needed a van to take equipment for 25 Scouts camping. Thanks to Oldham Council and Action Together for connecting the Scouts with such a generous business.”

Thank you The Jordon Group for supporting a local community group!
