Have your say on Greater Manchester’s Police and Crime Plan priorities

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has launched a public consultation on the next Greater Manchester Police and Crime Plan, which will set the direction for policing and community safety across the city-region for the next three years.

The public consultation began (Monday 1 November) and will run for four weeks until Tuesday 30 November. Responses to the consultation will be collated and feed into the final version of the next Plan, which will be published in January 2022.

Music and dementia charity Playlist for Life is inviting community groups and organisations across the UK to join their free Help Point network to share the power of personal music for people living with dementia, their families, and carers.  

Recovery Loan Fund

Aims/priorities: Loan funding is available to support registered charities and social enterprises impacted by the pandemic and which are working to improve people's lives, or the environment they live in, across the UK. The scheme supports access to finance for charities and social enterprises working to improve lives or the environment in the UK as they recover and grow following the COVID-19 pandemic. Loans can be used for business purposes, including, managing cashflow, investment and growth.

Age-Friendly Neighbourhoods: Opening up during COVID-19 & managing risks

Their next online event as part of our Age-Friendly Neighborhoods work will be on opening up and delivering activities during Covid-19. 

This event is open to anybody but particularly those who run community activities for older people, who want to hear more about delivering activities in a Covid safe way and supporting older people to return to pre-pandemic activity levels.

Greater Manchester Domestic Abuse Helpline

The Greater Manchester Domestic Abuse Helpline is launching a brand new freephone telephone number. This will allow more victims of Domestic Abuse and violence to contact them for free and in confidence. Victims of Domestic Abuse, professionals, and worried friends and family can call for free Monday–Friday 10:00-16:00 on 0800 254 0909.  

  

Historic Houses Foundation

Aims/priorities: Grants are available to organisations and individuals for repairs and restoration work required to prevent loss of or damage to historic buildings, their gardens, and any outbuildings, located in England or Wales. The objectives of the Foundation are:

Douglas Arter Foundation

Aims/priorities: Grants are available to UK registered charities for projects for the benefit of people of all ages with physical and mental disabilities within the UK.

Who can apply? UK registered charities are eligible to apply.

Grant amount: Funding is provided at the discretion of the Trustees. Previous grants have been for between £500 and £2,000, with the majority being given in the £250 to £500 range.

BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials Programme

Aims/priorities: BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials Programme supports children and young people who are facing exceptionally difficult circumstances.
