In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Power to Change have launched a £12 million crisis support package to provide immediate and medium-term support for community businesses supporting the vulnerable and isolated in England.

The emergency package includes £7 million in rescue funding, which offers grants of up to £25,000 to contribute to trading incomes losses incurred between April and June 2020. This will initially be available to current and previous Power to Change grantees and to community businesses which are members of Co-operatives UK, Locality and Plunket Foundation.

The Edward Gostling Foundation (formerly the ACT Foundation) provides grants to UK registered charities with the aim of enhancing the quality of life for people in need, specifically the mentally and physically disabled or those with long-term illness. Two funding streams are now available:

• Small Grants of less than £5,000 available to charities with an annual income of less than £3million.
• Large Grants of more than £5,000.

UK registered charities may apply.

Charities must have been registered for at least three years.

This charity has set up an emergency relief fund in response to the growing impact of coronavirus/COVID-19, to support young asylum-seekers and refugees during the pandemic.

The funding is intended to support the immediate health and well-being of young asylum seekers and refugees during the current crisis, and to help to relieve destitution and poverty in general.

The Prince’s Trust and NatWest have launched a £5million grant fund for young entrepreneurs affected by coronavirus. The Fund is available to entrepreneurs aged 18-30, who can apply for grants and tailored support from today. Grants can be used to maintain core business operations during the crisis, as well as meet any existing financial commitments, such as paying for essential equipment or settling invoices from suppliers. In conjunction with these grants, the initiative will also offer one-to-one support and guidance to applicants who need it.

Barclays will be making 100 donations of £100,000 each to UK charities working to support vulnerable people impacted by coronavirus/COVID-19, and the associated social and economic hardship caused by the crisis.

Youth Music has announced a new Emergency Fund to offer additional support to music-making organisations affected by coronavirus. Through this fund Youth Music will aim to prioritise the people and organisations in the most immediate need, and to make quick decisions and payments. The British Muslim Covid-19 Fund is here to assist all those great organisations that are supporting to protect and assist the most vulnerable through these testing times. To all our charities and volunteer groups, we have a duty to support you. Many of you are tirelessly working to bolster the NHS staff, assist with social care, feed the isolated and assist affected families with bereavement and funeral services.
