Hinrichsen Foundation

Aims/priorities: The Hinrichsen Foundation offers grants to support organisations and individuals undertaking projects to promote music.

Who can apply? Individuals, organisations, and charities in the UK are eligible to apply.

Priority will be given to projects involving composers and activity based in the UK, though activity does not have to occur solely in the UK.

Projects that are composer or artist-led are encouraged.

Applications for small grants from large organisations may not be prioritised.

Randal Charitable Foundation

Aims/priorities: The Foundation aims to support innovative projects and initiatives that drive positive, life-saving, and life-transforming change in communities in the UK and around the world. 

Who can apply? UK-registered organisations can apply. 

Organisations must have been established for at least three years and have an annual turnover of between £50,000 and less than £500,000.

Grant amount: Between £5,000 and £30,000 are currently available. 

KFC Youth Foundation Community Grants Programme

Aims/priorities: The Foundation aims to support grassroots organisations helping young people to thrive. 

Funding is for programmes that create safe spaces, offer diversionary activities, and build life skills, from confidence and resilience to job readiness, to help young people feel secure, empowered, and ready for a positive future.

Who can apply? To apply, groups must: 

Innovation for All Foundation

Aims/priorities: The funding is for activities that meet the Fund’s theme of  'Innovation for good', and its objective is 'through innovation, empowering positive benefit for those in need'. 

The funder considers “Innovation” broadly, encompassing projects/charities that are new, different, innovative, technical, progressive, or creative.

Projects that are ‘sustainable’, meaning projects that are respectful of the environment and have a lasting impact, are favoured. 

Connections to Kilburn & Strode are also welcome.

Meet the Charity | The Burnside Centre

Back in November 2025, The Burnside Centre were presented with a certificate from Action Together for our Quality in Action Award - a recognition they actually achieved in February 2022!

The Quality in Action Award is a recognised framework of accreditation for VCFSE organisations working across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside, that acknowledges commitment to safeguarding, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

We returned to The Burnside Centre this month to find out more about the enormous programme of support they offer to the local community, meet some of their service users, and uncover the impact measurement/data collection work happening as part of the Rochdale Community Centre Consortium.

Their hub programme of events for the community is vast, with something taking place every day of the week. From counselling and welfare advice sessions, arts and crafts, crisis support, advice and referrals...and not forgetting their fabulously talented 'Inspirations Choir', there really is something for everyone.

Burnside's Pre-School was graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2025, a grading they are proud to have held for 13 years. They provide exceptional educational care for children aged two to four in a fantastic space which is soon to be expanded with the development of a dedicated Forest School area for the children. They also deliver an ‘Invest in Play Programme’, where parents attend to learn new skills.

Rochdale Community Centre Consortium are looking for new members to join their growing collection, and would love to start conversations with local charities and community organisations who might be interested in getting involved.

The Consortium is a collective of eight vibrant community organisations across Rochdale, working together to drive system change, support grassroots organisations by sharing best practice and setting standards in areas like impact measurement and employment practices, and uplift one another through collaborative projects.

King Charles III Charitable Fund – Small Grants

Aims/priorities: The scheme provides small grants to support independent UK registered non-for-profit organisations for grassroots, community-based projects that fall within its core funding themes:

  • Heritage and conservation.
  • Education.
  • Health and wellbeing.
  • Social inclusion.
  • Environment.
  • Countryside.

Who can apply? Applications are accepted from UK registered not-for-profit organisations, including:

Sasha Foundation

Aims/priorities: This fund aims to support charitable organisations working with young people, with a preference for those suffering from depression and mental health issues, or those who are confronting drug abuse issues. 

Additionally, the Foundation supports education and healthcare projects and programs in the third world, with a preference for education for young women. 

Who can apply? Established charitable organisations can apply.
