Graham's Big Win | Oldham Community Lottery

The Oldham Community Lottery is a fantastic fundraising channel which supports local organisations in Oldham to raise vital funds.

Where did you hear about the Oldham Community Lottery?
I first heard of it from Action Together, when it first set up. I wanted to support local organisations any way I could.

Why did you choose to support Spark Oldham?
Since the Oldham Community Lottery started, I have set up my own CIC with my wife and friends, so I started to support the profile for Spark Oldham CIC. 

What was your reaction once you had found out you had won £250?
I was over the moon to find out that I won. My wife sent me a message, asking if I had won, as she had seen 'MR R has won £250'. But I didn't have network so I couldn't check. With anticipation building, I was delighted to find out I had in fact won so much money. 

What will you spend your winnings on?
I will be buying my wife a cheeky Nando's and also supporting our Christmas appeal, supporting families this Christmas. 

What would you say to someone to encourage them to play the Oldham Community Lottery?
Go for it! You could be the 'Spark' in someone else's life. Not only can you have fun trying to win prizes, but you can also support some amazing local organisations, doing awesome work in your community!

Army Benevolent Fund – Grants to Organisations

Aims/priorities: The funding is intended to support charities and organisations with projects and activities that directly benefit the Army community in six key areas: independent living, elderly care, education and employability, mental fitness, families and housing.

Who can apply? All registered charities and other organisations which support the Army community, which includes veterans, serving soldiers, their families and immediate dependants, may apply. 

Youth Music Trailblazer Fund

Aims/priorities: The funding aims to support young people who want to change their lives through music but cannot because of who they are, where they are from or what they are going through.

The grants are for organisations who want to trial work or test a new way of working, sustain a grassroots programme or disrupt the status quo (or all three).

Who can apply? Constituted UK based organisations may apply.

To be eligible, applicants must:

Youth Music NextGen Fund

Aims/priorities: The funding is intended help early-stage musicians and wider music adjacent creatives to invest in their own projects and make their ideas happen. The fund is especially aimed at those whose lack of finance holds them back from pursuing their goals.

Who can apply? Applications will be accepted from 18-25 year old creatives (under-30s who identify as d/Deaf, neurodivergent or Disabled) in the UK who lack the finance to develop their creative project or idea.

National Archives - Engagement Grants

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to allow organisations to connect archives with their communities and the wider public in alignment with key moments of national significance.

This year's funding is for projects that address the theme of ‘Community’. Projects can either reach out to new audiences or connect with old audiences in new ways.
