The National Emergencies Trust (NET) has launched a coronavirus fundraising appeal to raise funds for local charities. The British Red Cross will be managing donations.  NET will award grants and distribute money raised through a number of charitable organisations, for example local community foundations. Partners will work within parameters agreed with NET “to help identify the greatest need and distribute funds with both care and speed wherever possible”.

We are here to provide free of charge clothing, food Items, toiletries, cleaning and household products so the most vulnerable people in our communities can stay safe and well.

COVID-19 presents us with one of the greatest challenges we have seen during our lifetimes. However, during this difficult time we, at Giving World remain committed to supporting people in crisis by providing our service in the time of their greatest need.

Oldham safeguarding children partnerships training offer will complement and enhance existing staff knowledge and skills. Before staff complete any partnership training, they must access the free e-learning module provided. The module is designed to help staff recognise and respond to possible signs of abuse or neglect. It is important for anyone working with or who may come into contact with children. The module takes around 60 minutes to complete and must be completed in one sitting, once completed a downloadable certificate is provided.

Recognise volunteers in the charity sector.

Room to Reward is a unique volunteer-recognition charity created to say ‘thank you’ to the Hidden Heroes – inspirational volunteers who give up their time to make a difference to those who need it most.

Partner hotels donate their unsold rooms, charities and community groups nominate their Hidden Heroes for a break – Room to Reward make it happen!

The charity launched in 2015 and since then some 220 hotels have joined the scheme. It aims to reallocate unsold rooms to "hidden heroes" who work to help others.

Community groups and schools can now apply for funding of up to £2,000 for projects.

Grants will be awarded to voluntary or community organisations (including registered charities/companies), schools, health bodies (e.g. Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), NHS Hospital Trust, Foundation Trust), Parish/Town Councils, local authorities and social housing providers.

The types of projects funded will be very broad and will cover the direct costs needed to deliver the project, this could range from:

Aims/priorities: Grants are available to encourage more people in Greater Manchester to walk more during social distancing restrictions. They are particularly looking for applications that encourage people who are usually less active or inactive to start or increase the amount they walk whilst following social distancing guidelines. The grants are funded by Greater Manchester Moving who have received funding from Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership to support as many people as possible to walk regularly.

These allegations have been combined with a series of personal online attacks on councillors, the local MP and various council officers.
