Oldham

The Ancora Project based in Oldham are celebrating today after being awarded £254,439 in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

The Ancora Project supports people hitting crisis brought about by financial hardship and this funding will enable the project to continue their crisis intervention service with its partners, KeyRing, Oldham Foodbank and Christians Against Poverty.

Who can apply? Registered charities in Wales and the North and Midlands of England that are ambitious and working to alleviate disadvantage in one or more of the following fields can apply:

Do you want to develop your knowledge, skills, understanding and awareness of gambling related harms (GRH) and how to provide help and support to an individual at risk of, or affected by, gambling related harms.

The programme is accredited by The Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH).

The training programme aims to educate learners, using an accredited, uniform and consistent set of messaging regarding Gambling Related Harm through an ethos that emphasis a Public Health Approach.

Due to their popularity last year, Oldham Parent Carer Forum are delighted to be able to offer a wide range of workshops that have been designed for parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities, aged 0-25 in Oldham, which will be delivered on zoom by Claire Jackson from SENETA. (Special Educational Needs Expert Training and Advocacy Ltd.) Claire has 19 years experience of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

IMHN are hosting a peer support forum for peer support facilitators to come together and discuss challenges & best practice.

About the event:

The forum will be a space to discuss any thoughts and experiences of running peer support. They will discuss the challenges we can all face, as well as our hopes and vision for peer support. They hope that the forum will serve as a space where you can all learn from and support, each other to develop best practice and hopefully leave reinvigorated and inspired.

• Increase understanding about healthy, unhealthy and toxic relationships.
• Give young people the knowledge and confidence to know how to keep their friends safe.
