Aims/priorities: This year, the Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the country, having taken the throne in February 1952. To mark the occasion, they are offering 70 grants of up to £250 each for residents to hold community street parties on the Jubilee weekend.

Who can apply: Before you apply, speak to your neighbours and find out whether there’s support to hold a party in your community. Arrange a street meeting to discuss the party options for food, decorations and entertainment and confirm a date and time. Please note that the Council grant cannot be used to purchase alcohol.
Grant amount: On the application form, you’re able to apply for both the £250 grant to hold a community street party the weekend of 2-5 June 2022 and apply to the Council to hold a street party. You’ll be contacted with a decision on each element of the application by Monday 25 April.
Application process: Please click here to apply. If your application requires the closing of your street, they will be in touch with you to discuss the options with you once your application is confirmed. They recommend you complete a risk assessment before the event takes place, but you don’t need to send these to us.
Deadline: Applications are accepted until Monday 11 April, 5pm and they will let you know the outcome by Monday 25 April.
