Community Activities
At 3rd Ashton Scouts we do badge work, camping, hiking, trips, competition camps, water sports, cooking, climbing and much more. Children aged 10 1/2 - 14 1/2 years old.
At 3rd Ashton Beavers we play games, crafts, trips out, indoor camping, football competitions, sports, badge work and much more. Children aged 5-8 years old.
At 3rd Ashton Cubs we play games, crafts, trips out, outdoor camping, football competitions, sports, badge work and much more. Children aged 8-10 1/2 years old. (Ashton-under-Lyne)
A Yoga group of for men who come together to exercise .
The group does an exercise session for cardiac rehab working with males from the local community who have had health issues in the past. These sessions involve 45 minutes of yoga
The allotment is open to volunteers over the age of 55 from Hyde. We grow veg and fruit, do cooking sessions, training courses around pruning, visit other organisations through trips out and events at the park including the wider community.
Child light is a children's charity based at Manchester airport that offers flights and holidays to children who have a disability or disadvantaged. The children fly in the air to Scotland in a specialised Christmas plane with santa on board.
Muddy Buddies is a garden run by volunteers where young children can attend with parents/carers and have fun helping create and maintain a beautiful garden
Mossley food bank provides emergency food supplies for those in need
Abney Orchestra is a fun, friendly, community orchestra, playing light classics and popular film music. We are always looking for new members - no auditions - all ages and abilities welcome. Come and join our rehearsal.
Coffee morning once a month which will include food/sandwiches/raffle tickets and is open to any age group. The cost is £1 per person
Community Cafe, Food Bank. We offer free food , everyone can come to come have a chat, have some lunch and make new friend. Food parcel will be available to people requiring some support.

Beavers, is the youngest section of Scouting operated by The Scout Association in the United Kingdom. The core age range for Beaver Scouts is six to eight years, though exceptions can be granted.
Cubs are an age-based section of The Scout Association for young boys and girls ages 8 to 10½. This section follows on from the Beaver Scouts (6-8 year olds) and Cubs will move on to Scouts at the age of 10½. The section originally opened as Wolf Cubs in 1916

Art classes are run twice a week in the Lounge. Sessions cost only £2.50 and all levels and abilities are welcome.

Our bowling and social club play crown green bowls starting form the first week in April. The bowling social club runs events throughout the year at the club house and also has darts, cards and a snooker table. There is a £10 a year bowling membership but all are welcome to turn up to join in.
