Community Activities
At 3rd Ashton Scouts we do badge work, camping, hiking, trips, competition camps, water sports, cooking, climbing and much more. Children aged 10 1/2 - 14 1/2 years old.
A Yoga group of for men who come together to exercise .
The group does an exercise session for cardiac rehab working with males from the local community who have had health issues in the past. These sessions involve 45 minutes of yoga
The allotment is open to volunteers over the age of 55 from Hyde. We grow veg and fruit, do cooking sessions, training courses around pruning, visit other organisations through trips out and events at the park including the wider community.
For people aged 18 +,emotional wellbeing A nominated book which gets read within the month. Discussed and rated out of 10.

Child light is a children's charity based at Manchester airport that offers flights and holidays to children who have a disability or disadvantaged. The children fly in the air to Scotland in a specialised Christmas plane with santa on board.
Muddy Buddies is a garden run by volunteers where young children can attend with parents/carers and have fun helping create and maintain a beautiful garden
Mossley food bank provides emergency food supplies for those in need
Abney Orchestra is a fun, friendly, community orchestra, playing light classics and popular film music. We are always looking for new members - no auditions - all ages and abilities welcome. Come and join our rehearsal.
Coffee morning once a month which will include food/sandwiches/raffle tickets and is open to any age group. The cost is £1 per person
Working with young people to develop their creativity skills through film. In this project, our participants will learn professional filmmaking techniques and create a real video for an audience. More importantly, they will develop the following skills:

Wednesday 9.30 am to 1 pm Come and go at a time that suits you. We make Cards and have a small Art Groupa d Knitting Group.
Bring your own projects with you, we have a large amount of Craft Equipment, members use. Our Cost is £3 with drinks served all the time we are open.
Place of Welcome are run by local community groups who want everyone in their neighbourhood to have a place to go for a friendly face, a cup of tea and a conversation if and when they need it.
Beavers, is the youngest section of Scouting operated by The Scout Association in the United Kingdom. The core age range for Beaver Scouts is six to eight years, though exceptions can be granted.
Cubs are an age-based section of The Scout Association for young boys and girls ages 8 to 10½. This section follows on from the Beaver Scouts (6-8 year olds) and Cubs will move on to Scouts at the age of 10½. The section originally opened as Wolf Cubs in 1916
