Launched in September 2014, BCBN’s Grant Initiative aims to provide small third-sector grant awards to empower charities and local community projects. This initiative will distribute a one-off grant award of up to £3,000 per charity or to small but credible community projects, which are able to demonstrate their positive impact on the communities they aim to serve. 

Aims/Priorities: The funding is for new projects being delivered in small local communities that work with adults and that actively promote heart health or reduce the risk of heart disease through primary or secondary prevention.

Who can apply? Registered charities and community interest companies (CICs) in the UK with an annual income of less than £1 million are eligible to apply.

Aims/Priorities: The Hospital Saturday Fund provides grant funding to registered health charities such as hospitals, hospices and medical organisations for medical projects, care, research or support of medical training taking place in the United Kingdom.

Who can apply? Applications will be accepted from registered charities with medical/health objectives, hospices and medical organisations based and operating within the UK or the Republic of Ireland.

Grant Amount: There are two levels of awards:

Aims/Priorities: Our Community Nature Fund supports community projects that are focused on creating, increasing or improving spaces for nature. Projects could include wildflower meadows, hedgerows, trees, ponds, community orchards or other nature projects.

Who can apply? Parish Councils, CICs, charities, and constituted voluntary groups can apply. Applications will also be welcome from smallholders where projects are not-for-profit and can demonstrate strong benefits for biodiversity.

Aims/priorities: This fund aims to support community tree-planting projects that are well-planned, sustainable, and will directly benefit people and communities.

Aims/priorities: The Imperial Community Impact Fund is an initiative designed to support local community groups and charities committed to making a positive difference.

We invite community groups and charitable organisations to apply for funding to bring their meaningful ideas to life. Our goal is to support initiatives that drive meaningful change, whether through environmental conservation, creative community participation, or solving pressing local challenges.

Aims/priorities: The funding is for projects that address at least one of the following aims:

• Transform an outdoor area, creating greener and more engaging community spaces.
• Create or enhance community growing projects.
• Enable community clean ups.

Who can apply? Applications are accepted from local grassroots, community-led organisations in the UK.
