Physical Activity Grants 2026

Aims/Priorities: 

The Parkinson’s UK Physical Activity Grants Programme supports activity providers to develop more physical activity opportunities across the UK for inactive people with Parkinson’s to become and stay active, and improve social wellbeing as a result of attending the project.

We are looking for innovative and new projects that will: 

Rowntree’s – Free the Fund Community Grant Programme

 

Aims/priorities: 

This year, four community projects in the UK and Ireland will receive funding of up to £10,000 to host fun, summer activities in the local community for people aged between 21 – 65 years old. This can include transforming an outdoor space or community garden, running a summer art festival or purchasing sports, arts, theatre or music equipment.

Groundwork Grassroot Grants

Aims/Priorities: Groundwork, in partnership with the Postcode Local Trust, Postcode Places Trust, and Postcode Society Trust, is offering grants of between £500 and £2,000 for small grassroots organisations that work to make a positive difference in local communities, particularly those working to support marginalised or vulnerable groups.

Funding is to support the work of groups that provide vital services in their local communities, such as:

Gambling harms prevention levy funding for the Voluntary Sector

Aims/priorities: 

In February 2025, it was announced that under the new statutory levy on gambling operators, which took effect from 6 April 2025, the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) would become the future prevention commissioner for gambling-related harms in England, working alongside appropriate bodies in Scotland and Wales.  The levy, which is expected to raise over £100 million, will be allocated across the 3 workstreams of research (20%), prevention (30%) and treatment (50%).

Alpkit Foundation Grant

Aims/Priorities:

We remain focused on small awards that have a direct impact, with support in the region of £50-£500 to individuals, community groups, schools and organisations to encourage people to get outdoors and have great experiences that otherwise couldn’t happen.

BBC Children in Need Grants

Aims/Priorities: At BBC Children in Need we believe that every child should have the chance to thrive and be the best they can be, however many children experience challenges that affect their quality of life and wellbeing. Challenges can include growing up in poverty, mental health issues, being ill or disabled, family challenges, and social injustice.

Better Youth Spaces Fund - Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside

Aims/priorities:

Better Youth Spaces is a capital grant programme funded by the UK Government and administered by Social Investment Business. This funding round can be used for capital equipment (including the purchase of vehicles), to help youth organisations to better support the young people they work with. The project must meet at least one of the fund objectives:   

Tameside Communities Fund 2025 - Small and Medium Grants

Aims/Priorities: The Tameside Communities fund will support the wider system priorities by tackling the health, social and economic inequalities that exist across Tameside, and invest in locally rooted, community led prevention to reach those most marginalised and vulnerable across communities.

The Tameside’s Locality plan: Building Back Fairer, Stronger, Together, sets out the ambition to improving the health of Tameside residents and prioritises the following themes:
