Rochdale Borough Council - Behaviour Change Programme

Aims/priorities: An opportunity has arisen at Rochdale Borough Council within the Public Health Team for an individual, an organisation, or collaboration to develop a programme of training and development to enhance the behavioural science expertise of Rochdale council and partners.

We envisage a multi-phased approach to developing our behavioural science expertise.

Phase 1

Tameside Winter Pressures Fund 22/23

Aims/priorities: Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council has again been allocated an amount of funding from Central Government to support the wellbeing of the local population during the winter months. An amount of this funding is being offered to the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector to provide real community based support for those in need. 

We are looking to fund groups who can support vulnerable adults in Tameside and projects that will improve people’s experiences and welfare during the winter months.

Let's End Hate Crime 2022 - Tameside

Aims/priorities: Hate crime is defined as ‘any criminal offences perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility, prejudice, towards someone based on a personal characteristic’. In Greater Manchester hate crime is monitored across six strands: race, religion, sexual orientation, trans identity, disability and alternative subcultures. Hate crime is significantly under-reported.

Tameside Domestic Abuse Grants 2022

Aims/priorities: Domestic abuse can negatively impact upon the health and wellbeing of those who are living with or have experienced domestic abuse and their children/families, and it can happen to anyone. It is important that we provide the best possible care and support to those who are affected. Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council (TMBC) are committed to proactively working in partnership with local communities and organisations to create communities where people can easily access the information and support they need within their local community.

Tameside DEFRA Grant 2022

Aims/priorities:  There are currently two funding opportunities available:

Crisis Fund (Up to £500) - Groups can apply for up to £500 to help people in crisis access food and essentials (toiletries, household essentials). There must be an additional offer of longer term help e.g., a leaflet with where to go information, variety of formats.

Tameside Community Recovery Fund - South

Aims/priorities: Tameside Community Recovery Fund is a Participatory Budgeting event where local communities can have a say and vote for their favourite community project. TMBC Community Safety are leading on this with assistance from Action Together supported by partner organisations. Greater Manchester Combined Authorities (GMCA) are funding £40,000 across Tameside communities - £10,000 has been allocated for each neighbourhood area: North, East, South and West.

Tameside Community Recovery Fund - East

Tameside Household Support Funds (HSF) 2022

Aims/priorities: Tameside Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprises (VCFSE) organisations can apply for up to £10,000 to primarily provide support to households in the most need of food, energy and water bills. It can also be used to support households with essential costs related to those items and with wider essential costs. In exceptional cases of genuine emergency, it can additionally be used to support housing costs where existing housing support schemes do not meet this exceptional need.
