Women in Innovation Awards 2022/23

Aims/priorities: The Women in Innovation Awards aim to fund and support women with innovative ideas and ambitious plans that will inspire others. The awards are for female founders, co-founders or senior decision makers working in UK businesses that have been operating for at least one year.

Applicants must be confident, with the support of an award, that they can make a significant contribution to a pressing societal, environmental and/or economic challenge through projects across a variety of innovation areas.

Community Research Networks Expression of Interest Competition

Aims/priorities: UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has confirmed it will invest £4.4 million over the next four years in the creation of a series of Community Research Networks across the UK. This will form part of its goal to deliver economic, social, and cultural benefits from research and innovation to all UK citizens.

The funding is intended to help local areas by investing in organisations which can support the sustainable and equitable involvement of communities in research.

Tree Council - Branching Out Fund

Aims/priorities: The Tree Council was founded in 1973 with major support from the then Department of the Environment and in 1978 became an independent registered charity. The Tree Council's aims are to:

Improve the environment in town and country by promoting the planting and conservation of trees and woods throughout the United Kingdom.

Disseminate knowledge about trees and their management.

Act as a forum for organisations concerned with trees, to identify national problems and to provide initiatives for cooperation.

DCMS Youth Investment Fund

Aims/priorities: Phase 2 is intended to deliver up to 300 youth facilities that:

  • Represent positive value for money.
  • Are environmentally sustainable.
  • Enable positive activities for young people.

Projects must be focused on the delivery of new and renewed youth facilities within a short timescale. Grants could cover:

Media Literacy Programme Fund

Aims/priorities: The Media Literacy Programme Fund is a multi-year grant scheme offering funding to organisations undertaking media literacy activity that tackles the challenges set out in the Online Media Literacy Strategy. In year one of the fund, bids are being invited for projects that meet one or more of the following strategic priorities:

The Arts Society Grants

Aims/priorities: This fund aims to support UK-based registered charities to deliver projects and activities that make a positive contribution to people’s lives through the arts. Funding will support projects and activities that engage young people in the arts, skills development in the arts and heritage sector, and projects that support local and regional arts organisations and museums.

Home Fire Safety Assessments from Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service

Greater Manchester Fire Service conducting in-home safety check

You can get personalised advice to keep your home safe from fire by using an Online Home Fire Safety Check tool. This can be accessed on the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) website, and you can complete an Online Home Fire Safety Check to help identify fire hazards in your home and get advice on simple changes that can reduce the risk of a fire. The free online check takes up to 15 minute to complete.

Displacement Education Fund

Aims/priorities: Grants are available to support charities, community groups and educational establishments with projects working with displaced children and young people both internationally and in the UK.

Who can apply? Applications are accepted from UK registered charities, not-for-profit community-based organisations, schools, academies, colleges and other educational establishments.

Climate Action Fund

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to support projects which focus on the link between nature and climate and use nature to encourage more community-led climate action.

Who can apply?  Applications will be considered from community-led partnerships that are made up of a mix of organisations from different sectors, either locally or UK-wide partnerships delivered across at least two UK countries.

Both new partnerships and ones that have already been set up are eligible.
