Aims/priorities: The fund supports the development of innovative products, activities and research projects that will contribute to make the chemical sciences community more inclusive and diverse.
Who can apply? The scheme is open to both RSC members and non-members based in the UK or Ireland.
Eligible applicants can apply either as individuals or on behalf of an organisation. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Member-led groups
- Researchers in academia or industry
- Museums
- Community groups
- Not-for-profit organisations
- Arts groups and libraries
Previous recipients of any RSC grants are welcome to apply for funding. This can be to scale-up a project that already exists or to fund the development of an original project.
Grant amount: Grants of up to £5,000 can be made. Grants exceeding £5,000 may be considered for one project each year.
The Chemists’ Community Fund (CCF) provides the Inclusion and Diversity Fund with ring-fenced additional funding to support initiatives that closely align with the CCF’s guiding principles, particularly those that engage directly with under-represented communities and support wellbeing, accessibility, and inclusive participation in the chemical sciences.

Deadline: There are two application windows each year:
- Round one: closed.
- Round two: applications must be submitted between 28 July 2025 and 15 September 2025. Funding decisions by 27 October 2025.
