Holiday Activities and Food Programme

Aims for Oldham's 2021 HAF Summer Programme.

The Department for Education (DfE) and Oldham Council would like programmes to provide a wide range of opportunities for eligible children and young people to engage in a summer offer that is local to where they live, and is a combination of:

Global's Make Some Noise

Aims/priorities: Working with Global Media & Entertainment Group, Global’s Make Some Noise raise funds through their annual public appeal and through other fundraising and partner initiatives. Funds are then allocated to charities at the end of the financial year.

The aim of this funding is to support organisations working across four key focus areas:

Forte (formerly Trusthouse) Charitable Foundation - Small Grants

Aims/priorities: We are a grant making foundation giving grants to small and medium sized local organisations in the UK with a demonstrable track record of success working to address local issues in communities of extreme urban deprivation and deprived rural districts. Our preference is for front line organisations working directly with people in need. We are unlikely to support campaigning, organisational development or capacity building.

The Weavers’ Company Benevolent Fund

Aims/priorities: The Weavers’ Company Benevolent Fund was set up in 1973 with funds from The Worshipful Company of Weavers, which is the oldest City of London Livery Company. The fund's priorities are:

1. Supporting offenders and ex-offenders

The Onward Community Fund

Aims/priorities: The Onward Community Fund aims to support local groups and projects. Underpinned by their mission ‘To make a positive difference in the communities we serve’ groups can bid for up to £2,500 for their neighbourhood. Examples could include: IT training, youth projects or community events.

Projects should aim to address one or more of the following:

Tesco Community Grants

Aims/priorities:  Community groups across the UK are being invited to apply for funding for local projects that matter to them.

The Tesco Community Grant scheme will award grants to charities and community organisations to fund local good causes whose focus is on supporting children and families.

Originally launched in 2016 as Bags of Help the scheme has supported over 36,000 community groups with more than £86million in grants since 2016, including 2,000 sports teams and 1,400 groups supporting vulnerable older people.
