The Zuto Make a Difference Fund welcomes applications from grassroots community groups based in any of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester.

Who can apply?

The Zuto Make a Difference Fund aims to encourage and support grassroots community organisations. This means small, community-based and locally controlled groups that manage themselves, encourage people to get involved as volunteers and who just need a bit of financial help to be able to work with their community in the way they’d like.

Aims/priorities: The Foundation aims to transform communities and change lives across the UK by making grants to charities and grass-roots community organisations.

Who can apply: Grants are available for local charities, community interest companies and unregistered community organisations across the UK.

Oldham Council have teamed up with Our Place and have invested in online parenting courses for all Oldham parents, grandparents and carers - you can claim your free course by simply using the code "DAISY"

It's that time again where they are planning Elections to the Council of Governors which will run from April to June 2022.

At Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, their governors play a key role in representing the views of our patient, public and staff members, ensuring that services meet the needs of our communities.

If you have an interest in their Trust and in helping them to continue to deliver the best possible care to patients, then please consider standing for election as a governor.

Following conclusion of the Charity Commission’s inquiry enough has been written over the last 7 years about the collapse of Kids Company but moving forward the Commission has invited all trustees to consider the wider lessons in the context of their own charity.

They have arranged the following online training courses taking place over the next few months:

• Tuesday 29 Mar - Effective Bid Writing - Do you struggle writing successful funding bids? This session will take you through the key practical steps in describing the essential elements of your project, to tell funders what they need to know.

Action Together has had a number of groups and individuals in Oldham, contacting us regarding community transport (mini-buses, car-shares, volunteer drivers etc) and we thought it might be a good idea to start collating some information on what existing resources are in our area and see if there are any gaps.

St Mark's Church in Glodwick are having a clear out and have few items that might be useful to local Community Groups:

The Prince's Trust and Vodafone partnership are supplying SIM cards that will support young people in Greater Manchester to stay connected and help them progress into employment, education or training.

The SIMs contain 20GB of mobile data, unlimited calls and texts every month for six months.

To be eligible the young person must be:

• Not in education, training, or employment
• Aged 18-25
• Living in Greater Manchester
