Aims/priorities: The Enterprise Development Programme aims to provide business and financial support to charities and social enterprises in England that are thinking of exploring new enterprise models and require financial or business support to make the transition, with the ultimate aim of taking on social investment in the future. The programme is open to organisations working across a range of sectors, which will vary as the programme runs its course.

Currently applications are invited from organisations working in the following sectors:

BHA Sexual Health Improvement Programme.

Who are they? 

BHA for equality is a health and social care charity which exists to challenge and address health and social care inequalities and suport individuals, families and communities to improve their health and well-being.

What they do?

The sexual health team at BHA work to improve access to education, resources, teasting and healthcare services for communities in Greater Manchester. They deliver free health services in community settings and groups.

Aims/priorities: Supports projects that make communities fairer for everyone. Co-op members have raised over £85m for nearly 30,000 local projects since we started the fund in 2016.

You can apply if your project:

• Brings people together to access food
• Helps improve people’s mental wellbeing
• Creates opportunities for young people to be heard and make a difference
• Helps people protect local biodiversity or tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions

Aims/priorities: Set up in 2016, the Home Office’s Places of Worship Security Scheme offers grants to places of worship in England and Wales for the provision and installation of up to three security measures from the following list:

Relax with Lucy & Co support focuses on helping to support families following baby loss and they have launched some online Mindfulness Baby Loss Sharing Circles for people in Oldham to access.

These circles are delivered by a (Accredited Breathworks Mindfulness Teacher & Mental Health Nurse)

On Sunday 15 May our Action Together team joined the Fun Day at Alexandra Park to promote Action Together and support the Mayor of Oldham's charity appeal.  

Staff and Volunteer Ambassadors enjoyed their day promoting Action Together and the benefits of volunteering.

Our team got involved in completing the 5k run in aid of the appeal and did absolutely amazing, winning a medal! Volunteer Elivis said, “I’m proud of myself and I’ve really enjoyed my day. I’m looking forwarding to volunteering at more events in my community."

Put the 'us' in bus this summer with chance to win free yellow school bus

Whether its reading spaces, quiet places or somewhere to meet new faces, people are being asked to submit their ideas for a chance to win a free decommissioned yellow school bus this summer.

From Monday 23 May, individuals, schools, community groups, sports teams and volunteer organisations can bid to Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to win one of nine yellow school buses that will be decommissioned from the existing fleet in July 2022.

Core20PLUS5 is a national initiative aimed at addressing health inequalities (https://www.england.nhs.uk/about/equality/equality-hub/core20plus5/). The Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN) is running a Core20PLUS5 project in Greater Manchester working with the Caribbean and African community to gather lived experiences that would feed into codesigning and coproducing pathways across core health conditions.  

The Tameside Community Recovery Fund is a Participatory Budgeting event where local communities can have a say and vote for their favourite community project. The Fund is supported by Action Together.

Earlier this month 10 local groups from Tameside West (Denton, Audenshaw and Droylsden) received funding (of up to £2,000 per group) with the aim of re-building their communities to develop a greener, safer and stronger place to live!
