Aims/priorities: The Foundation’s objective is to support civil society institutions and schools in delivering creative and innovative solutions to problems facing refugee children in the Middle East and Europe.

The autumn 2022 call will focus on projects that specifically address innovative solutions to accessing formal education as well as employment-focused vocational training, answering specific needs and presenting realistic solutions for refugee and displaced children and youths.

Who can apply? In order to be considered eligible, organisations must:

  • Be a registered charity in the country in which they are headquartered; individuals who wish to apply can only do so in conjunction with a registered organisation (eg an academic researcher might apply with the backing of their university).
  • Be able to meet the Foundation's reporting requirements.
  • Have a Child Protection Policy in place that conforms to the laws of the country in which they operate and a clear methodology that demonstrates that it is appropriately and consistently applied.

Grant amount: Organisations can request up to £100,000 for up to three years, though more than one organisation may be funded so smaller requests are accepted.

Application process: Applicants must submit a Concept Note in the first instance, and successful groups will then be contacted in the second week of October 2022 to submit a full application form.

Guidance notes and the Concept Note form are available on the Al Madad Foundation website.

Deadline: 4 October 2022
