Aims/Priorities: The funding is for registered charities throughout the UK, who share the National Autistic Society's vision to create a society that works for autistic people.

An annual grants theme was introduced in 2025 which changes from year to year.

The funding is intended for projects that align with the annual theme ('making a society that works better for autistic people' is the theme for 2026) and one of the following priority areas with a direct benefit to autistic people:

  • Diagnosis
  • Public services and specialist care
  • Families and support networks.

  • Values autistic individuals – understands and appreciates what autism is and how it is unique for each individual
  • Guarantees support- provides seamless diagnosis, support and care for autistic people from all backgrounds at all moments of need throughout their lives
  • Is free from discrimination – rejects stereotypes and stigma, removes the expectation to mask, and doesn't accept being told to fit in as acceptable.
  • Maximises autistic power - autistic people are empowered to control how they live their lives and make distinctive contributions that influence the world.
  • Adapts public spaces and services - designs spaces and services that are autistic inclusive, with flexible adjustments that recognise that not all autistic people have the same preferences.
