Active Travel Fund Cycle Parking Grants (Education)

Aims/priorities: This fund aims to support the provision of cycle parking across Greater Manchester. Funding will support the installation and improvement of a range of cycle parking facilities that enable and encourage people to travel more by bike, including but not limited to staff, pupils, residents, patients, and visitors.

Who can apply? The following can apply:

Small businesses with:

  • An annual turnover of no more than £10.2 million.
  • A balance sheet totalling no more than £5.1 million.
  • No more than 50 employees.

VCSE organisations such as:

  • Voluntary or community groups/organisations.
  • Not-for-profit companies.
  • Community interest companies or social enterprises.
  • Registered charities.

Education providers, such as:

  • Primary and secondary schools.
  • Further education providers.

NHS Healthcare providers, such as:

  • NHS Trusts.
  • GP Practises.
  • Dental surgeries.

Groups must provide:

  • Tw0 written or verbal quotes or goods/services up to £1,000.
  • Three written quotes for goods/services between £1,001 and £10,000.

Grant amount: The maximum grant contribution per site is £15,000.

In some circumstances, where organisations wish to install cycle parking at multiple locations, bids above this amount can be considered. The level of grant applied for should be proportionate to the number of potential cyclists that will be using the facility.
