Aims/priorities: The Fund is provided and administered by The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT) Charity. The funding is for projects that use technology in a meaningful way and support one or more of the charity's priority areas:
- Education
- Inclusion
- Tech for charities
- Public understanding of technology.
There is particular interest in innovative projects involving areas such as AI, data and analytics, robotics, digital skills or accessibility technologies.
Projects are more likely to be successful if they:
- Have potential for lasting impact and wider adoption
- Demonstrate strong value for money and social impact
- Benefit at least 25 people in the UK
- Are innovative and not simply a business-as-usual activity
- Deliver clear and measurable outcomes
Who can apply: UK registered charities that have been established for at least one year and that have both an annual income and unrestricted reserves below £1 million may apply.
Grant amount: Grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 are available to cover most or all of a project.
Application process: WCIT Charity has introduced a cap on the number of applications it will accept 'due to a dramatic increase in applications in recent years and the modest grants' provided each year. The charity now caps the number of applications to 50 each quarter.
The next application window will open on 21 September 2026 (instead of 14 September) and close on 3 November 2026 (or when a cap of 50 applications is reached). It will reopen again every three months thereafter.
