Aims/priorities: Wheels and Walks is a programme that supports people in Greater Manchester to become more active by walking, wheeling and cycling.
Through the programme, community groups will be supported to deliver walking, wheeling and cycling activities for people in their local area. By sustaining activity across Greater Manchester, we can reach communities who would really benefit from these activities.
The programme will run from early 2025 to late 2026. During this time, we're aiming to work with around 40 community groups that will be selected through an application process. Each successful group will receive a package of support from TfGM to deliver their activity.
Who can apply? To ensure the grant money reaches the right groups and communities we have set eligibility criteria below. If your group is not listed below, please contact wheelsandwalks@tfgm.com
- Voluntary and community organisations.
- Registered charity.
- Social enterprise
- Group of organisations, if they are led by a voluntary and community organisation or social enterprise.
- Community Interest companies (with two or more directors)
- An education provider e.g., primary and secondary schools, further higher education.
- An NHS Healthcare provider, e.g., NHS Trust, GP Practice.
Grant amount: Up to £5,000.
Application process: To apply, please complete the application form and email it to the Walks and Wheels team.
