Supports the Treasurer in overseeing the charity’s financial governance, sustainability, and accountability. Acts as deputy to the Treasurer and provides continuity when the Treasurer is unavailable.
Financial awareness or accounting experience, ability to understand financial reports, attention to detail, sound judgement, integrity, confidence to ask questions, and commitment to the charity’s mission and animal welfare.

- Tasks: • Support the Treasurer in monitoring the charity’s financial position and performance
• Assist with reviewing management accounts, budgets, cash flow, and financial reports
• Help ensure appropriate financial controls, processes, and reporting are in place
• Deputise for the Treasurer at board meetings when required
• Support the preparation of annual accounts, audits, and regulatory returns
• Provide challenge and assurance on financial decisions, risks, and value for money
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term financial planning
• Support fundraising and income generation discussions from a financial perspective
• Promote good stewardship of charity funds and resources - Training: Charity induction, access to ICAEW Trustee training.
