Aims/priorities: The Trust offers funding to support young people who have learning disabilities, with a focus on those who have left formal education. Grants are available for small UK registered charities that promote education, learning, training, recreation and rehabilitation for these young adults, providing practical skills to support them to lead independent lives. The funding is for projects that are designed for and aimed at people with learning disabilities aged 18 to 25 outside the school environment.

Aims/priorities: The fund supports legal work to promote the rights of vulnerable migrant children and young adults. The grants are for strategic legal work where the impact is likely to go beyond an individual case, and result in changes to law, policy and practice that benefit a wider group of people. The  Strategic Legal Fund (SLF) funds strategic legal work in any area of law where vulnerable young migrants experience disadvantage or discrimination as a result of migration status.

The SLF defines vulnerable young migrants as follows:

Aims/priorities: The aim of the Fund is to show support for community events, charities, schools, and community group activities that are local to NFU Mutual’s business operations across the UK.

Aims/priorities: The COVID-19 Response Fund aims to help charities in the UK and abroad to alleviate social deprivation, helping vulnerable people affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The activity must be specifically related to the COVID-19 pandemic and can be for project and administrative costs, as the Trust does not usually fund capital expenditure. However, applications for medical equipment and the production or distribution of PPE may be considered.

Aims/priorities: The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and The National Lottery Community Fund have announced a new fund to reduce loneliness by helping people feel more connected.  The new £4 million Local Connections Fund which is made up of £2 million from the Government and £2 million from The National Lottery Community Fund will provide grants of between £300 and £2,500 to small charities and community groups in England. 

Aims/priorities: Grants are available for Black-led grassroot organisations and projects in the UK who are working to eliminate barriers to progress for women and girls in the Black community and driving for long-term systemic change. There is particular interest in applications from any organisations that have an innovative and creative approach to the way they engage Black women and girls in their community. The projects funded should meaningfully involve the women and/or girls they support to reach their full potential and break down barriers to success.

Aims/priorities: The Community Radio Fund is managed by Ofcom with funding from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). It has been running since 2005.

The aim of the programme is to support community radio licensees with the core costs of running a community radio station on the condition that the station has a social purpose and works to involve the local community in the running and providing of the service.

Aims/priorities: The Windrush Community Fund is provided by the Home Office and administered on its behalf by Voice4Change England.

The funding is intended to support the Fund’s objectives which are to:

• Increase awareness and visibility of the Windrush Scheme (documentation), Windrush Compensation Scheme, or both and the support available
• Reach more communities and individuals who may have been affected by their inability to prove their lawful status in the UK

In addition, the Community Fund also seeks to:

Aims/priorities: Grants are available to voluntary and community organisations in England which work together with a shared set of goals and values to help their community thrive. The aim of the programme is to encourage organisations to work in partnership to help their communities thrive by focusing on the bigger picture, rather than just what their organisation can do on its own. “Communities” can be people living in the same area, or people with similar interests or life experiences.

The funding can support different types of partnership, including:

Aims/priorities: The Alec Dickson Trust supports individuals and groups of young people who are able to demonstrate that through volunteering or community service they can enhance the lives of others, particularly those most marginalised by society. The funding is intended to enable socially concerned young people to run projects that will benefit communities in the UK and make a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged people.  The current call for applications comes in response to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.
