Aims/priorities: The Ideas Fund aims to enable the public to develop and try out ideas that address problems related to mental wellbeing in local communities by connecting them with research professionals who will help bring their ideas to life.

Recycle for Greater Manchester Community Fund (2022-2023)

Aims/prorities: The Recycle for Greater Manchester Community Fund (2022 – 2023) is a joint Recycle for Greater Manchester and SUEZ initiative, accessed through the Greater Manchester Environment Fund to support the Greater Manchester Community and Voluntary Sector to deliver projects which prevent, reuse or recycle household waste, promote sustainable use of waste and resources and generate wider social benefits for the community of Greater Manchester.

The last year has been difficult and the future, whilst bright, is uncertain. This is an opportunity to pause and consider how to be in a strong place to move forwards for the future.

Become a Lived Experience Representative for Oldham

Independent Mental Health Network logo,

The Independent Mental Health Network (IMHN) are looking for people with lived expereince of mental health to be involved in and influence the development of a new service model in Oldham!

IMHN are working with Living Well UK to co-design a new service model with input from residents and practitioners within the Oldham area, which is dedicated to serving those who fall through the gaps of mental health services. They are looking to gather stories from the lived experience representatives and want to ensure co-production is a key part of this project.

One Oldham Fund Children and Young People Grants Up to £1,000

Aims / Priorities:

The One Oldham Fund is a strategic single investment fund that uses pooled resources for the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Oldham.

The funding for this grant is provided by Oldham Council to invest in the capacity of the VCFSE Sector to improve the lives of children, young people and their families in Oldham. 

Applications should be for projects that aim to improve up to two of the following outcomes for children (including pre-birth), young people aged under 25 and their families.:

Co-op Local Community Fund

Aims/priorities: The funding is for projects that:

  • Enable people to access food and co-operate together to feed everyone.
  • Help improve people’s mental wellbeing.
  • Offer young people opportunities to develop new skills and make a difference in their community.
  • Help people protect local biodiversity or tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions.

Strategic Legal Fund

Aims/priorities: The Strategic Legal Fund (SLF) for migrant groups in the UK is a fund to support legal work in the UK that goes beyond securing justice for an individual and makes a significant contribution to law, practice and procedures to uphold and promote the rights of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants more generally.

The SLF aims to tackle injustices and inconsistencies in law and practice that disadvantage or discriminate against asylum seekers, refugees and migrants as a result of their migration status.

Vegan Society Grants

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to:

  • Raise awareness of veganism in a positive way.
  • Promote veganism in a unique or exciting way to non-vegans.
  • Support people from marginalised backgrounds to access veganism.

Who can apply? 

Small to medium non-profit organisations or individuals with non-profit projects may apply.

Applicants must be vegan.

Projects can be based around the globe, with a focus on countries which are economically developing.

Aries UK relaunch LGBT+ Group in Tameside

Aries UK (Tameside based LGBT+ Charity) are relaunching their LGBT+ Safe Space Group. The group was established in 2019 and moved online during the pandemic. Aries UK has their new space on Market Avenue is looking forward to inviting people back in person.

Launching from Thursday 26 May 5pm - 7pm, the Tameside LGBT+ Safe Space Social Peer Support Group will be meeting at 1B, Market Avenue, Ashton Under Lyne OL6 6AR.

The first session is free (a donation of £1 after that), and will be an opportunity to socialise with other local people in the area.
