Oldham

We have been working with Gatherwell, an ethical Community Lottery provider, to develop a Community Lottery for Oldham.

Community organisations within the borough of Oldham have registered as Good Causes in the Oldham Community Lottery, in hopes to use this fantastic new channel as a fundraising opportunity, allowing you to give locally and with ease.

Tickets for the Oldham Community Lottery will be available from Tuesday 25th July 2023.

Aims/priorities: This funding is for organisations that support people and communities under severe pressure because of the increased cost of living.

By community they mean people living in the same local area.

Their main priority is to fund organisations supporting low-income households and individuals.

To apply your organisation must already run critical services around at least one of the following:

Aims/priorities: The funding is for tree and hedge planting projects taking place during the 2023/24 winter planting season.

Aims/priorities: HMRC has £5.5 million of funding for 2024 to 2027 to allocate to voluntary and community sector organisations to help them provide support to HMRC customers who need extra help understanding and complying with their tax obligations and claiming their entitlements, including those who are digitally excluded.

HMRC is looking for voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations to help customers to form or rebuild a relationship with HMRC that enables them to engage directly with HMRC in the future.

An important new survey has been developed to try to better understand the thoughts and experiences of Oldham’s use of NHS 111.

NHS Oldham Integrated Care Partnership has worked with Healthwatch Oldham to create the online survey to take a closer look at how and why the public is using the service, the outcomes of this use, and the personal experiences of those that have used it.

Aims/priorities: To help children have a stronger start in life, they partnered with Groundwork to create a new £5.3m grant programme called Stronger Starts. Our goal? To give 1 million children a Stronger Start by helping fund healthy food and fitness activities that can improve their physical health and mental wellbeing - from breakfast clubs to playground equipment, football kits to gardening classes.

Aims/priorities: The Trust makes grants principally in two sectors: Music and Heritage & Crafts.

Music Grants

The Trust supports classical music performance and training especially chamber music, composition and music education. Particular interests within music education are music for children and adults with special needs, youth orchestras and projects at secondary and higher levels, including academic research.

Applications are normally considered under the following headings:

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to develop and expand community links by:

Get your summer activities booked in and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Castleshaw Valley, whilst taking part in some exciting outdoor activities!
