Aims/Priorities: The provision of financial support and guidance to established charitable organisations:
• in the UK, supporting young people in the UK with a bias towards young people who are suffering from depression and mental health issues or who are confronting drug abuse issues; and
• within the UK and Europe, supporting education and healthcare projects and programmes in the third world, with a bias towards education for young women.
Who can apply? You do not have to be a registered charity to apply, but the work you ask us to support must be legally charitable. Grants to other organisations will always be restricted for a specific charitable purpose.
You must have a governing document (constitution, rules, memorandum, and articles of association etc.), a governing body of at least three unrelated individuals, and a bank account in your group’s name with at least two unrelated signatories.
Grant Amount: Grants are usually under £10,000
Application Process: Applications must be submitted in writing using the Sasha Foundation grant application form which can be downloaded here. They can be submitted by email or by post.
At minimum, the trustees will meet twice a year to consider applications: the associate deadlines each year for submitting applications are 01/04 and 01/10. In assessing applications they will follow the processes set out in the Sasha Foundation Grant Making Policy, which can be downloaded here.
Applications must set out the expected outcomes from the project/program, how outcomes will be assessed and how they will be reported back to the Sasha Foundation trustees.
The trustees are empowered to solicit applications from charitable organisations that they are aware off and which operate in areas relevant to the Foundations objectives. They will also short list and assess unsolicited applications for support.
Any attempt by an applicant to approach the trustees directly to solicit support for or influence the assessment of a specific application will most likely result in the application being rejected.
