Recycle for Greater Manchester Community Fund

**To help secure funding for local recycling projects, the funders are hosting two free workshops. There are two dates available; Thursday May 6 at 6pm and Saturday May 8 at 10am. To secure a place register here or email gmenvfund@lancswt.org.uk.**

Aims/priorities: The fund aims to support projects which prevent, reuse, or recycle household waste, and also reduce contamination, promote sustainable use of waste and resources, and generate wider social benefits for the communities of Greater Manchester. Priority areas:

  • waste prevention
  • increasing recycling
  • reuse of household waste
  • reducing contamination

Your project will need to focus on one or more of these priority waste streams:

  • Food waste
  • Paper and card
  • Glass
  • Textiles
  • Furniture
  • Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Who can apply? Applying organisations must be based in one or more of the following 9 Greater Manchester council areas; Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, and Trafford (excluding Wigan):

  • Registered Charity (charity number must be provided)18
  • Not-for-profit organisation (defined as a registered legal entity that does not make a private profit for directors, members, or shareholders)
  • Community, Neighbourhood or Voluntary Group
  • Faith group delivering community work
  • School, College or University

Grant amount: There are 18 x £10k Awards (at a district level Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford) and 2 x £20k across Greater Manchester.

Money is available for project capital and running costs (including staff time) but cannot contribute towards the organisation’s core running costs.
