Aims/priorities: The funding is for organisations in Britain that are running activities between 1 December 2026 and 2 January 2027 that create opportunities for people aged 65 and over to come together, socialise and enjoy some festive cheer.
The funding is intended to:
- Help people feel connected, included and remembered, rather than simply providing a gift or food parcel.
- Reach communities where there is a greater level of need, so priority will be given to applications demonstrating a clear need among the people and communities they support. When all other factors are equal, organisations working in areas with higher levels of deprivation affecting older people will be prioritised.
Who can apply? Applications will be accepted from the following organisations with an annual income of less than £250,000:
- Registered charities
- Exempt charities
- Constituted community groups
- Community Interest Companies (CICs) limited by guarantee.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be operating in England, Scotland and Wales.
- Be independent and have a bank account in the organisation's name.
- Have less than 12 months of running costs held in unrestricted reserves, unless there is a legitimate reason for holding higher reserves.
Grant amount: This year, the funding pot is £38,000 and it is expected that more than 50 grants will be awarded.
Grants up to £750 are available.
