Aims/priorities: Small Business Britain has partnered with Instagram to offer businesses an opportunity to benefit from their new UK Mentorship Programme.
Participants will learn about content creation, marketing and social commerce from renowned creators, successful founders and Instagram experts.
Those who apply but are not picked for this mentorship programme will still receive a specially curated digital toolkit of best practice guides for social commerce for Instagram.
Who can apply? The competition is open to any person aged 18 or over and resident in the UK. The individual entering the competition must be the owner or founder of the business being submitted for the scheme. They must be a small business owner based in the UK with 1-25 employees. They must use some of the following Instagram functionalities: Stories, Shops, IGTV, Reels.
Grant amount: The five winning small businesses will benefit from:
- A pairing with an Instagram expert mentor for three monthly hour-long 'troubleshooting and learning' sessions to optimise their Instagram presence and performance.
- A pairing with a broad business expert or consultancy for a one-off hour long consultation on their business growth requirements or needs, depending on their skill needs and objectives.
- A pairing with an Instagram Creator who will deliver on in-person or digital 2.5 hour workshop session to build the winners’ content plan in the run-up to peak trading around the holiday period and support their creative content skill development.
- A £1,000 ad credits package from Instagram to support their creator strategy.

Winners will be contacted after 27 September 2021. The mentorship scheme will run between October and December 2021.
