Grants to support the promotion of the free early education offer for 2 year olds to Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities

Aims/priorities: GMCVO, with funding from GMCA, have launched a grants programme to support the promotion of the free early education offer for 2 year olds to Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities. Grants of up to £1,000 are available to Bangladeshi and/or Pakistani led GM VCSE groups to host community events or produce awareness raising materials of the government funded free childcare offer for 2 year olds from eligible families.

Who can apply? The eligibiltiy criteria is as follows:

  • Voluntary, Community or Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations operating in Greater Manchester for the benefit of Greater Manchester residents (If you are not constituted you must have a constituted organisation willing to accept responsibility for managing your grant).
  • Applications from CIC’s will be accepted if they have a minimum of three directors, a membership and an asset lock with a specified organisation named.
  • Applications from Companies limited by guarantee will need a minimum of three directors, and within their Articles of Association a statement about their purpose and social impact, a not for profit clause, a director remuneration clause as well as a clause stating that assets will be distributed to another not-for-profit organisation fulfilling similar objects if they dissolve.
  • Must either have a bank account requiring two signatures in the name of your organisation or in the name of the organisation managing the grant for you.
  • VCSE organisations led by members of Bangladeshi and/or Pakistani communities.
  • VCSE organisations that are committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). 

Grant amount: Up to £1,000

Deadline: Key dates are as follows - 

  • Launch - Monday 16th August 2021
  • Online briefing event - Monday 6th September 14:00 - 15:00
  • Closing date - Thursday 16th September 2021 at 17:00
  • Notification of decision - Friday 24th September 2021
  • Project completion - 30th November 2021
