The Forrester Family Trust

Aims/Priorities: The Trust offers grants to registered charities who are working towards a just and equitable society through three separate programmes:

  • Themed Grants - accepting applications in September 2025. This year's theme is ‘the rehabilitation of imprisoned and formally-imprisoned offenders in England and Wales’.
  • Small Grants - accepting applications in December 2025.
  • Three Year Grants - closed until 2027.

Who can apply? Charities registered in England and Wales may apply.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Have an income of less than £5 million a year if applying for a themed grant.
  • Have an income less than £250,000 a year if applying for a small grant.
  • Have a track record of doing good work or have a fantastic new idea.
  • Be able to articulate the difference they will make (either through a formal Theory of Change or by answering the Trust's application questions).
  • File their accounts on time and be able to demonstrate good governance.

Grant Amount: A total of £600,000 is available for this round with a maximum grant of £40,000.

Application Process: Applications for this year's themed grants will be accepted from 1 September to 30 September (midnight).

The Trust aims to distribute their grants within three months of the closing date for applications.

The Trust advises that given the number of applications received every year, they are unable to enter into discussion or to provide feedback on unsuccessful applications.
