Aims/priorities: Following the announcement from the Department for Education of the extension of the Holiday Activities and Food programme in England for this year, I am pleased to announce that Feeding Britain can offer additional funding to holiday clubs during the Easter and May half-term holidays to complement this programme in England, and to complement other statutory support in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.
The holiday clubs must offer enriching activities and provide meals that meet the School Foods Standards. Organisations can apply for funding to add places to their holiday programmes for either or both the Easter and May half-term holidays.
Who can apply? Funding is available to organisations across the UK running holiday clubs during Easter and May half-term holidays that can provide additional places for children who are living in poverty but not eligible for statutory support (e.g., the Holiday Activities and Food Programme or Free School Meals).
Grant amount: We can award up to £10 per place per day (i.e. a place for 1 child for 1 day). There is no upper limit on the amount of funding an organisation can apply for, but please be aware that we are expecting a high volume of applications and we are keen to support holiday clubs across the UK. While we aim to support as many organisations as possible in this round, we expect more funding to be available later in the year, and there will be a second funding round for the Summer and October half-term holidays.
Application process: To apply, please complete the application form here.
We also welcome applications from local authorities and HAF coordinators who can apply on behalf of holiday clubs in their area and prioritise funding based on local need. Please be aware however that we have limited funding and are keen to spread this across a wide area. Combined applications can be made using this application form.
Deadline: Sunday 16 February 2025.
