Empower Her Football Activity

Aims/priorities: The aim of the ‘Empower Her Football Activity Fund’ is to diversify the women and girls involved in football by ethnicity, faith and low affluence, and to provide opportunities to experience football in different communities and settings across Greater Manchester.

The Empower Her Football Activity Fund will do this, by supporting organisations to: 

Create Opportunities To Play: Develop new opportunities for girls and women from diverse communities to play sessional football, local to them. 

Support Female Volunteers: Identify, train and support female community role models and volunteers and empower them to deliver or support football programmes in their communities 

Support Role Models in Communities: Work with community role models to tell their stories, to inspire, educate and influence others to get involved in football. 

Increase Awareness: Increase awareness of girls and women of opportunities to get involved in football in their local area. 

Who can apply? Voluntary, Community Sector and Charitable Organisations and Groups, Sports Clubs, Faith Group and other Not for Profit and Public Sector Organisations, based in and/or benefitting residents of Greater Manchester. 

We will also accept applications for multiple projects on behalf of a consortia or collective of community led organisations. 

Applicants will need to have a bank account in their organisation’s name, or to work with a partner organisation who can be in receipt of the funds on behalf of your organisation or community. Grant amount: Applicants can apply for between £250 - £2,500 per project and organisation. 

We will also accept larger applications from an organisation applying on behalf of a consortia or collective of community led organisations, to deliver multiple projects across a region of Greater Manchester.

Send an application by video or voice recording using wetransfer to leigh.gell@manchesterfa.com - (Video and voice recording applications should be a maximum of 10 minutes in length). 

We will aim to let all applicants know if they have been successful within 5 weeks of the application deadline. 

Deadline: Applications must be submitted and received by 5pm on Wednesday 14th May 2025.
