Edward Holt Trust

Aims/priorities: The Edward Holt Trust invites applications from charities working in Greater Manchester for ambitious new pilot projects that aim to lift people out of poverty and/or prevent homelessness.

They are looking for bold, practical and locally rooted proposals focused on prevention. Projects should tackle root causes, reduce vulnerability and build lasting resilience for individuals and communities. 

They must be shaped with people who have lived experience and include paid employment, training, skills or career-development opportunities for those colleagues.

Who can apply? UK registered charities with an annual income below £1.5 million. You must be based in Greater Manchester and project must be delivered within a 15 mile radius of Manchester City Centre.

Grant amount: The Trust expects to make a substantial multi-year commitment, likely to be around £200,000 per year for up to five years. More than one organisation may be supported.
