DWF Foundation

Aims/Priorities: The Foundation has been set up to help with initiatives that develop and improve local communities by:

  • Tackling a specific community issue.
  • Helping voluntary and community groups become more effective and efficient.
  • Encouraging the involvement in the community of those too often excluded.
  • Enabling young people to develop skills for the benefit of the community.

The Foundation’s work focuses on the issues of homelessness, health and wellbeing, employability, education, the environment and sustainability.

Who can apply: Registered charities in the UK that are working locally can apply for one-off grants. Applicants will need to provide their local DWF office location as the local offices are involved in the distribution of funding and have knowledge of the local area.

Although it is not required to provide a reference from a DWF staff member, it is welcomed by the Foundation.

Groups that consider the environmental impact in the delivery of the initiative and can demonstrate appropriate steps are encouraged to apply.

Grant amount: Grant amount is usually at the discretion of the Foundation but the majority of grants are under £5,000.

Application process: Submissions can only be accepted via the online application process. Grant guidelines, FAQs, and an online application form can be found on the DWF Foundation website. Additionally, online workshops are available.

Deadline: Applications can be submitted at any time and will be considered at periodic grant committee meetings.
