#WednesdayWeekly - Raising Awareness of Dementia
The NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Partnership have been working jointly with Action Together to organise an online session during Dementia Awareness Week which runs from 15 to 19 May.
The aim of the session is to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of Dementia, specifically in the South Asian communities of Tameside, Oldham and Rochdale, and is specifically aimed at local third sector organisations who support local communities in Tameside, Oldham and Rochdale.
Opening the session will be Dr Vinny Khunger, Clinical Lead for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities in Tameside. At the session a short video case study will be shown of a South Asian family who have experienced a dementia diagnosis. The session will raise awareness of the types of dementia and how they present, as well as giving an opportunity for Q&A with a lead clinician.
