Cash For Kids - Impact Grant

Aims/priorities: The Cash for Kids Impact Grant supports community groups, schools and charities working with children and young people affected by and living with disadvantage.

Who can apply? Applications are accepted from registered charities (with an annual turnover less than £1 million), schools, community organisations and other grassroots groups based across the UK.

Eligible organisations include schools, community associations, youth groups, grassroots organisations and sports groups.

All organisations must evidence safeguarding policies, a bank account with the group/school's name, recent bank statements and accounts, plus a breakdown of requested costs or quotes. Schools must submit a letter from the Head Teacher confirming the application and point of contact. Both registered charities and other groups must have a governing document.

For holiday hunger requests and before/after school clubs, there must be food provision included for the children.

School trips or residential breaks in the UK or Eire are only for disadvantaged children who, without support, would be excluded.

Respite breaks in UK or Eire are only for children with disabilities or life limiting conditions. Consideration must be given to distance to travel and how additional costs will be covered. Cash for Kids will only cover costs for the child and one carer.

For the current call, applications are accepted for all areas except for East Yorkshire, Yorkshire Coast and Lincolnshire.

Grant amount: Grants are usually between £1,000 and £3,000, although more or less can be requested.

The following financial limits apply:

  • Laptops/tablets for study: up to £400 per child.
  • Therapy: a maximum of six months of sessions.
