Asda Foundation - Young Futures Fund

Aims/priorities: The funding is for community groups who are looking to deliver activities for teenagers and young people (13 years to 21 years), helping to improve mental health and wellbeing, and create positive life opportunities.

There is particular interest in groups that:

  • Provide specialist services for marginalised or vulnerable groups of young people.
  • Increase access and participation in activities that would otherwise not be available.
  • Address prevalent social issues in their community such as: knife crime, gangs, bullying, personal safety etc.
  • Challenge inequality through awareness, training and education.

Who can apply? Not-for-profit groups and organisations based and working within the UK can apply.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Have an income of below £250,000.
  • Have a signed governing documents outlining their not-for-profit status.
  • Have a bank account set up in the group’s name which accepts cheques.
  • Have a safeguarding policy in place that covers all service users of their organisation.
  • Have an existing service for young people within the 13-21 age group.
  • Predominately support young people within the 13-21 age group as part of their core service.

Applicants need to meet at least one of the following objectives:

  • Provide services that support, educate and empower.
  • Connect young people to their peers.
  • Support rehabilitation and recovery and provide shelter.
  • Deliver activities / programmes that improve physical health and wellbeing.

The Foundation strives for a holistic spread of applications across the UK, applications from the same area will be reviewed together and Asda Foundation will select the most impactful project/s who meet all the above.

Applications are encouraged from sports clubs, youth clubs, Explorer Scouts, Cadets & Rangers who are specifically carrying out projects/activities to engage and improve the wellbeing of marginalised and at-risk 13 to 21-year-olds.

Grant amount: The total funding pot is £500,000.

Grants of between £500 and £1,000 are available.

Funding must be used, and projects completed, by September 2025.

Application process: The criteria and eligibility checker are available now on the Asda Foundation website.

Groups can check their eligibility before the fund opens at noon on 27 February 2025. If eligible, they will be able to access the link to submit an application as soon as the fund opens. 

Please note: The application window may close early if there is a high level of applications. If a geographic region is oversubscribed, individual areas may close before the deadline for the total grant programme.

Applications will be reviewed within eight weeks of the grant window closing. Projects should start no earlier than 10 weeks after submission. 

Deadline: The application window opens on Thursday 27 February 2025 (noon) and closes on Thursday 13 March 2025 (noon).
