Our Community First Aid Volunteers play a vital part in helping us deliver safe, compassionate, and community-focused first aid cover at events across Greater Manchester. You will work alongside experienced responders (FREC 3 and above), supporting them in caring for patients, ensuring events run smoothly, and contributing to our wider community engagement mission.
You don’t need any previous medical experience. We will provide full training, ongoing CPD, and the guidance you need to feel confident in your role. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your teamwork, and your commitment to helping your community stay safe.

- Tasks: You don’t have to take part in all these activities; they are simply examples of the types of tasks you can get involved in as part of the Community Medics team.
Event Support & First Aid Delivery
Support trained responders in delivering safe, effective first aid at local events.
Assist with basic first aid tasks within the scope of your training.
Help with patient handovers and maintaining a calm, reassuring environment for those receiving care.
Contribute to event set-up and pack-down, including preparing equipment and creating a safe clinical space.
Community Engagement
Support with CPR demonstrations and public first aid awareness activities.
Speak with the public about Community Medics, our mission, and our services.
Help young people and families learn simple lifesaving skills in a friendly, approachable way.
Operational Support
Assist with equipment checks, restocking, and vehicle preparation before or after events.
Support logistics such as setting up gazebos, booking areas, or community stalls.
Provide general assistance to the operational team as required. - Training: The training for this role will take place at the Norden Old Library, OL12 7RB between 09:30-16:00 across four days.
