The South Asian Heritage Festival is a vibrant, free annual community celebration. This year it takes place on Thursday August 20th 2026 at Rochdale Town Hall.
The festival brings together voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations alongside statutory partners to showcase the rich cultures, histories and contributions of South Asian communities.
This role will support the smooth running of the festival through set-up, stewarding and collecting feedback from attendees.
The role is open to volunteers aged 16+. Please let us know which tasks you are interested in doing when you apply.

- Availability: Thursday AM, Thursday PM
- Tasks: Volunteers can choose from a range of tasks. You do not have to do all of these. Please let us know which tasks you are interested in doing when you apply.
- Set-up: Help to set up the festival marquees on the morning of the event.
- Stewarding: Help performers and members of the public to find their way and stay safe during performances, flag parades, and games. Stewarding around the market place.
- Cleaning and litter: Keep the festival tidy by emptying bins and collecting litter.
- Collecting feedback: Talking to people who attend the festival about their feedback and collecting this on paper forms or through audio/video recordings.
- Pack-down: Packing down the marquees at the end of the day. - Training: No training is required; a pre-festival briefing will take place during the week of the event.
