As Charity Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting the effective governance and administration of the organisation. Working closely with the Chair and fellow trustees, you will ensure the Board operates efficiently, compliantly, and transparently.

Governance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with governing documents, Charity Commission guidance, and relevant legislation
Maintain statutory records, including trustee registers and governance documentation
Support timely submission of annual returns, accounts, and trustee reports
Board Administration
Coordinate and organise board and committee meetings
Prepare and circulate agendas and papers
Attend meetings and produce clear, accurate minutes
Maintain secure, well‑organised governance records
Policy & Documentation
Oversee the review and updating of organisational policies
Ensure trustees have access to current governance information
Maintain confidentiality and GDPR-compliant data handling
Trustee Support
Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of trustees
Track terms of office, training needs, and governance requirements
Communication & Liaison
Act as a point of contact with regulators and relevant bodies
Support strong communication across the Board
Risk & Accountability
Support oversight of governance processes and risk frameworks
Highlight any governance concerns to the Chair or Board - Training: Full training will be provided, including charity operations and communication skills, along with ongoing support and mentoring.
