To create engaging written content for Rochdale Online and the radio station’s digital platforms. This role supports the station’s new media presence by helping inform, inspire, and connect with the local community through articles, interviews, and features.

Volunteer or presenter spotlights
Event write-ups
Interview local individuals, organisations, or radio guests for written features
Assist with drafting blog posts, press releases, or social media captions
Help edit and proofread articles before publication
Liaise with the wider radio and media team to share relevant content
Follow content guidelines, tone of voice, and deadlines - Training: Induction and editorial guidelines will be provided
- Requirements: Willing to travel by public transport or find own way to volunteering location
- Skill And Qualifications Required: Strong written communication and storytelling skills
Interest in journalism, community media, or local news
Good attention to detail and ability to write clearly for the public
Reliable, creative, and able to work independently or in a team
Comfortable speaking with others and asking questions when researching or interviewing
Previous writing experience is a bonus, but not essential – training provided - Interests: Community, IT
